Do I have to ‘meet’ at a specific time?
Maestros Flamenco Online comprises a series of pre-recorded video classes, forming the learning material for the online classes.
You can learn at your own time, at your own pace and convenience.
You therefore do not need to meet and attend at a specific time.
You have a busy schedule, so you can learn flexibly around your schedule, and on the go!
Can I watch as many times as I want?
The courses are EUR40 (Dance), EUR 30 (Song), EUR 50 (Guitar), with package discounts EUR 60 (Dance + Song) and EUR 70 (Dance + Song + Guitar).
So imagine that this one-time enrollment allows you to ‘attend’ classes for as many times as you want, and FOREVER.
You can also re-visit and reference specific topics ANYTIME, as these are organised clearly and stored into Your Library.
Access quality teaching from Spain’s top artists, any time and from anywhere in the world.
How do I access the courses?
At the point when you are purchasing a course, you will be asked to create an account (with your email and a password).
You can then access your courses via 2 simple ways:
Website - Log into your account from your laptop, computer, tablet or mobile device (our website is mobile friendly).
Mobile Application - download the Kajabi app from your IOS or Android mobile. (Kajabi is the host learning system for our courses). Sign in with your email and password. Then you’re in!
What language is the course in?
The course is conducted in Spanish. The videos are subtitled in both Spanish and English.
You’ll get to hear all three artist-teachers in their flavourful native language, Spanish (or shall we say, Andaluz (the Southern Spanish way of speaking!)
That can also prepare you for a time when you attend a workshop by a Spanish-speaking artist in your country, or for a time when you come to Spain!
Initially, Tania wanted to subtitle it into English only. But she reckoned, it’s great for students to hear Andaluz too, since singers tend to sing flamenco letras in an Andaluz way.
So time was spent on subtitling the videos into Spanish too. That way, your ear can be accustomed to hearing Spanish/Andaluz, as well as flamenco dance terminology in its original language!
We are looking forward to translating/subtitling to other languages, so stay tuned.
Do I have to complete each module within a fixed timing?
No, there is no fixed timing to complete the course. You can go at your pace and time, flexibly.
You can set your own time goal to learning.
Can we download the videos?
Currently, the videos are not downloadable. However, you have a forever-access to them.
The videos are streamed, so you will be needing your internet when viewing them.
In the future, we hope to have them accessed via offline viewing. This depends on our host system, to whom we have given our suggestion. We will keep you informed if they implement our suggestion.
For who are these courses?
This online course is suitable for you if you are saying ‘Yes’ to the following:
As astudent, flamenco-lover, have you wondered about and wanted to learn how flamenco dancers, singers, guitarists work spontaneouslytogether?
As a performer, do you desire to be able to do this?
Perhaps you might be at a stage, where you are starting to, or already know, that this is your next area of growth.
As a teacher developing your pedagogy, is this a gap of your knowledge or experience, you would like to fill?
You are either a dancer, singer or guitarist and want to understand from all perspectives - dance, song, guitar.
Why Learn Online?
You can access the teachers, and reference their teachings any time, as many times as you want. At your pace and convenience.
You can stay in touch with Spain no matter where you are in the world, and all throughout the year.
These online courses are intended to offer extra options and create new ways for your flamenco learning.
We are big on the physical human touch, so we don’t intend for online learning to replace the human touch.
Rather, you can use them to complement what you learn (or teach) in your studio and workshops.
Can we learn flamenco codes & communication if the course is online and not in person?
What you gain from our courses are invaluable insights into
How to dance to song & guitar;
How to sing for dancer and with guitar accompaniment;
How to the guitar accompanies singer and dancer.
With these online courses, you get to learn from not ONE, but ALL three perspectives: Dance, Song, Guitar. A holistic approach.
Use these insights to acquire your knowledge into how dancer - singer - guitarist communicate in live, spontaneous scenarios.
If you don’t have a guitarist or singer.
If your next stage of learning is about live accompaniment (baile, cante, guitarra) but currently don’t have a singer or guitarist to work with, then this course will serve as a great way to prepare yourself.
Prepare for a time when you start to work with live accompaniment.
Equipping yourself with an understanding now, which you can then apply in your future practice when you DO have a dancer or singer or guitarist, to form your team.
That way, you would not be starting from scratch. You would already have some base of knowledge which you can apply and practice - in class, or on stage.
PLUS Use the insights you gain, to grow your flamenco appreciation.
You can appreciate more of what you are seeing when you watch a flamenco performance whether live in the tablaos, or theatres, or on social media videos.
Have a basic understanding from our first course, in order to analyse similar performances (eg the Tangos), learn from how the artists are doing it, and it could possibly give you further ideas.
Analyse to understand why something is being done ( that the move is not just a choreography, but a signal)
If you have a guitarist or singer.
If you already have a team, or when that time comes for you to have your musicians, then you would not then be starting from zero.
Why? Because you would already have gained insights from our maestros, and have some examples & possibilities to practice with your team.
If you are currently learning flamenco as a set dance or fixed choreography
This may be a mind-opening course for you, to know that flamenco goes beyond steps and choreography.
It’s live and spontaneous, and through this course, you can broaden your paths to experiencing flamenco.
